Prime Therapeutics Protects Sensitive Information
Prime Therapeutics, the Minnesota based pharmacy benefit management organization partnered with Informatic Intelligence to implement a test data management and data privacy solution using Optim-I in order to protect the confidentiality of the sensitive information of for all the transactions that the company manages for 17 million members. The project was a huge success when it when live in May 2011. Despite the sheer amount of data and complexity of the database structures, Informatic Intelligence delivered the solution including also a regression testing system as a side benefit to facilitate the software change management control.
Chevron Implements Data Growth Management
October 2010. Chevron called on Informatic Intelligence to implement a solution to manage the growth of its JDE systems using IBM Optim. Informatic Intelligence developed a recipe and lead the projects to roll out the solution which, includes an evergreen process to archive the data periodically, to Nigeria (2009), Angola (2010) and currently Thailand. The recipe will also be applied in future steps to the operational units in Bahrain and Kurdistan as well as the South American units in Colombia, Venezuela, Brazil and Argentina.
Martin Marrietta Materializes Upgrade Plans
May 2010. The initial plan that Martin Marietta Materials, the Raleigh, NC based organization had to upgrade its JDE system became prohibitive when the first evaluations established the amount of down time it would take to convert the huge database. The large and complex operation just cannot afford to bring the system down for more than a few hours on exceptional circumstances. Informatic Intelligence proposed and implemented an staged approach to archive first the old transactions, allowing the current data to be upgraded quickly. The archived data was moved over to a non production environment whose upgrade time doesn’t impact the operation. As a result not only the upgrade plans are now feasible within a small amount of time, but the system’s performance is much better as a result of the archive.
Ethicon Endo Surgery Manages Data Growth
November 2009. Ethicon Endo Surgery, a Johnson and Johnson company that manufactures medical devices, implemented the solution designed by Informatic Intelligence to manage the growth of its JDE system. The solution uses IBM Optim to remove old records from the production environment periodically maintain the system’s size and performance in optimal conditions.
Wall Street Trusts Informatic’s Solutions
May 2009. The Depository Trust and Clearing Corporation (DTCC) is the back-end processing house for all the transactions happening daily on the New York’s stock market. The sheer amount of records generated daily need to be moved over from the production servers in order to maintain the performance required for the operation. The solution: Implement IBM Optim to remove the records from all the different servers to a common repository. Informatic Intelligence helped design and implement the processing that runs automatically everyday to extract the old transactions to the historic repository.
Visteon Speeds up Application Retirement Plan
November 2008. One of the goals for Visteon Corporation since its separation from Ford Motors Co. was to re-design the information systems and integrate all them all into one platform. When the goal was reached it was time to retire the old applications, pull the plug on the servers while ensuring the information was still available. The complexity of the problem to decommission data from so many different sources was what prompted Visteon to call on Informatic Intelligence to find a solution. As a result Informatic Intelligence architecture the solution that allowed Visteon to access the historic information from one source without having to maintain the servers.
Amway takes control of the data growth
July 2008. Alticor is the parent company of large organizations such as Amway and brand names like Nutrilife with presence and heavy operations in 80 countries. When its ERP system was ready for an upgrade, the amount of data to be converted required weeks of downtime for the process, a luxury the businesses could not afford, the time had to be reduced to no more than 10 hours. Informatic Intelligence implemented a solution to stage the upgrade process separating the current transactions from historical records into two different environments, allowing the production system to be upgraded quickly and become operational while the history was upgraded. In addition, monthly processing jobs were created to move automatically the oldest transactions from the production environment to the historic one, thus maintaining control over the size of the database and improving performance while lowering the costs of the production systems.
SAQ gains control over data growth
January 2008. The Société des alcools du Québec (SAQ) is a state-owned corporation, based in Montreal, responsible for the trade of alcoholic beverages. The logistics to distribute and control thousands of products over more than 400 stores across Québec demand sophisticated systems and powerful servers. Yet, tracking the thousands of inventory transactions that occur hourly take a toll in performance causing business problems such as the inability to scan product sales or inquiry inventory levels when the response time is not fast enough. Informatic Intelligence established a solution to archive the inventory records and maintain the size, cost and performance of the system in optimum levels. Keeping the ability to report from the archived data with the same application tools was key for delivering the solution SAQ required, as a result the solution was replicated for other systems: Sales Orders, Procurement and Financials with similar results
AT&T Makes the right call for decommissioning data
December 2006. A turn of events during the negotiations between Cingular Wireless and AT&T aimed to merge the two organizations resulted on the sell of the wireless division from AT&T to Cingular. The immediate effect of the merger was the mandate run the operation from Cingular’s systems and to decommission all the application servers in order to reduce maintenance costs. IBM partnered with Informatic Intelligence to deliver a solution to retire all the databases into one common repository using Optim. Over 200 heterogeneous databases where archived in low cost tier storage systems ensuring accessibility in compliance with the required service level agreements. The servers where decommissioned and a year later AT&T took over control of the division facing out the Cingular brand for good.
Bacardi toasts to Informatic’s controls
August – 2006. Since 2004, Bacardi, the familly owned business with headquartes in Miami, Florida, relies on Informatic Intelligence to assess the security of its information systems and identify any potential security risks before they become threats. Informatic Intelligence custom developed the controls and assessment tools that monitor the systems and report any unusual activity. Bacardi knows the criticaly of these controls in order to run a safe operation, offering also a very efficient data processing flow; something to cheer about.
