Information flows on a life cycle building and combining data from structured and unstructured sources. Informatic Intelligence helps organizations build and understand the Information Lifecyle Management (ILM) from beginning to end:
- Formation:
As soon as data is created within an organization it must be made reliable by ensuring its accuracy and integrity
- Gathering:
This is the process that creates value by applying intelligence to mine data and build information from it, classify its sensitivity and establish the protection requirements
- Retention:
Data is not meant to live forever, it has no intrinsic value, instead, it produces costs and generates risks. Intelligent retention defines not only how long data is kept, but how it’s stored and aged across tiers until its final disposition
- Archiving:
There usually exist business and legal requirements to retain data even after information serves critical functions. Archiving ensures accessibility and integrity while reducing costs and overhead from the on-line systems
- Final Disposition:
When data is no longer required, it must be permanently deleted. Intelligent disposition addresses the preservation of integrity including all instances of the data in all the repositories for production, non-production and backup environments. Defensible data disposition complies with legal and business requirements as per the classification in the retention schedule
